For Online Volunteers

Online Volunteers: How to Get Started

Thanks for your interest in contributing to Crossing Borders from your special corner of the planet. We are excited about establishing a CB network of supporters from all over the world. With your unique local contribution and participation in a dynamic CB network, the sky’s the limit!

As an online volunteer, you will represent CB in your local community and get the word out about activities, projects, and opportunities. The success of CB depends on our volunteers: your perspective matters and we highly value your knowledge, input and ideas.

So how can you get started? First, become a member of CB and read about CB core values, strategies and methods here. Then, within your home country, we suggest you initiate a combination of the following activities:

Recruit new CB members
• Please print and share CB materials and brochures

Find new applicants for CB Global Studies
• Again, you can print and share

Keep updated on partner opportunities
• Check the CB website for ‘calls for participants’

Create your own materials (videos, articles, etc.)
• Share with us and others about your home country and relevant activities

Strengthen your own project ideas
• Get advice and consult with us to improve and act upon your ideas for projects

Spread the word in your social media network
• Share updates from the CB website with friends

Organize activities, workshops, and seminars
• Use CB as an example in designing your own local activities. Remember: when you are organizing any activity, ensure that it offers a relevant input and that participants actively participate with some sort of output in the end, where participants design and create together (articles, videos and/or photos). Don’t forget to use social media and livestreaming as a tool.

Contribute to CB Magazine
• Write articles for and/or find new journalists for upcoming editions (check back with us for current and upcoming themes)

From our side, we will stay in close contact with you to hear how things are evolving and to connect you with other online volunteers in the global CB network. In addition, you may draw inspiration from the established CB satellites: CB Pakistan and CB Japan. We will also try to involve you in relevant activities here in Denmark whenever possible!

Thanks again for your initiative and enthusiasm and let’s get started!
